We are delighted that Alan Titchmarsh introduced the Wetterhoun and the philosophy of preservation breeding in his wonderful show - Love Your Weekend. You can see our appearance here:

The Wetterhoun is a rare breed of dog with a world population of around 1000. They are a common sight in their own region of Friesland in the Netherlands where they are treasured as both working dogs and family companions. Dogs are registered by the Dutch Kennel Club and the family trees can be traced back over many generations.
In the UK, there are currently 12 Wetterhounen. The UK Stabyhoun and Wetterhoun Association represents both the Frisian rare breeds. We are establishing a responsible breeding programme, with the advice and support of the Breeding Committee of the Dutch Association (NVSW - Nederlandse Vereniging voor Stabij- en Wetterhounen).
Aafke provided the first UK litter of Wetterhouns on 5th April 2023. We are delighted that a second match has been approved for Aafke - please see our page for Litter Plans 2025. Meanwhile her sons are preparing to join the international Stud Book lists, and her daughters will be ready for their own puppies in 2025/26.
